Hi there!my name is jessie.
I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, yoga instructor, post-partum doula, and the woman behind Whole Woman Nutrition & Wellness.
I help empower women with pre, peri, and post-natal nutrition guidance to thrive at every stage.
As a mom myself, I credit my own healthy pregnancy, easy birth recovery, and successful breastfeeding experience to knowing the importance of nutrition during these major physical & emotional life changes.
If you’re ready to experience the same — let’s chat!
about Jessie Valentine, MS, RD, CDN, RYT
I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and certified yoga instructor with a passion for women’s health – especially nutrition related to fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a second bachelor’s degree in nutrition, and a master’s degree in clinical nutrition.
While pursuing my master’s degree, I worked in a women’s prenatal/postpartum nutrition clinic, which sparked my interest in women’s health. I was so inspired by what I was learning that I chose to focus my master’s thesis on breastfeeding & nutrition. Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of settings including large & smaller hospitals, private practice, and community-based nutrition programs.
Nutrition is a major component of preparing for and having a healthy pregnancy, recovering from birth (whether you have a vaginal or cesarian birth), and feeling well-nourished as a mother. I am thrilled that you’ve chosen to explore how we can work together!
get to know me a bit more...
- Being a dietitian was not my first career! I used to work at a nonprofit and I have a degree in psychology
- I love counseling + nutrition and realized that was my calling
- I love running 🏃🏻♀️ and listening to music
- My favorite food is any kind of burrito 🌯
- I followed a plant-based diet for a long time, but no longer put labels on what/how I eat 🥦🫐🍳🦪🍤
- I became interested in women’s-specific nutrition/health for many reasons—I’m a woman and I’ve felt that general nutrition advice often ignores the unique nutrition needs of women. A lot of nutrition advice geared towards women is restrictive and focuses primarily on weight, rather than well-being (bodies are so much more complicated than a single number!)
